This is a rare opportunity to join at the start of something big. The excitement of a startup with the security of a big, established company. We are helping a large UK-owned software group to build and scale a world-class, AI-first engineering organisation in Manchester. They have very ambitious plans and the budget to make it happen.

As one of the first hires in the newly established and growing UX function, you will be responsible for delivering excellent design across two product areas. Whilst the UX chapter is newly established, the design system is being built. This is a hands-on design role — you will own the design of real, complex features. You’ll work closely with the newly established engineering and product teams. This role offers the chance to influence technology standards across multiple greenfield projects.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience shipping real features in complex, workflow-driven products — from concept to production
  • Detail-obsessed interaction designer, covering every state: edge cases, errors, and recovery flows
  • Self-directed and highly accountable — comfortable managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Strong design systems practitioner — consistent, scalable, and thoughtful in execution
  • Clear, precise communicator — with a focus on effective microcopy in complex scenarios
  • Collaborative but decisive — confident in advocating design decisions, guided by evidence
  • Drawn to high-stakes, compliance-heavy domains where accuracy matters
  • Experience in conversational UX, progressive disclosure, and human-in-the-loop automation

Benefits include an industry-leading benefits package, with hybrid working in their central Manchester office. If you'd like to discuss further, please apply now.
