We are working with an industry leading organisation in Bristol who are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join the company at a time of transformation. It's a senior individual contributor role, a technical lead role, and a line manager role, in roughly equal parts. You'll report to the Head of Software Development and work alongside other Lead Engineers to keep engineering practice consistent across the wider team.

  • Lead on the team's harder and higher-risk engineering work yourself
  • Own code quality and reliability for the systems your team builds
  • Manage technical debt and steer the long-term direction of your team's codebase
  • Line-manage up to four engineers - 1:1s, performance and development
  • Mentor engineers inside and outside your immediate team
  • Lead agile ceremonies, planning and estimation with your team

A track record of shipping complex, production-ready software with minimal oversight. Substantial commercial experience with .NET (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core). Experience with SQL Server. Experience designing and building RESTful APIs. Front-end experience with Angular and TypeScript / JavaScript / HTML / CSS. Experience working in an agile environment, including Scrum. Azure Cosmos DB.
