We’re looking for a Billing Assistant to support our Residential Conveyancing team on a full-time basis. We have a full-time vacancy in our Hartlepool office to support our Residential Conveyancing teams with client billing processes.

What you’ll do:

  • Raising matter bills accurately and in a timely manner
  • Raising and processing purchase orders
  • Liaising with the accounts department regarding financial queries
  • Helping to maintain the sales ledger for conveyancing matters
  • Reconciling all costs to bills and completion statements
  • Produce and post credit notes and bill amendments
  • Answering queries and working with colleagues in relation to billing matters
  • Conduct data entry tasks accurately and efficiently

Desired skills and personal qualities:

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or above) or equivalent or AAT Level 1 Award in Accounting or equivalent
  • Experience of accounts reconciliation
  • Experience dealing with clients over the telephone
  • Experience within a residential conveyancing setting would be an advantage
  • Good level of IT Skills, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills with strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Able to use own initiative and prioritise work effectively
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • A proactive, professional approach with great attention to detail
