As we scale and evolve, we’re looking for an exceptional People Operations Generalist to help us build the organisation we need for what comes next. This is intentionally a broad role with genuine ownership and exposure to some of Tillo's most important organisational decisions.
This role will be based in our Hove office 2-3 days a week.
We’re in the business of rewards and incentives, so we know a thing or two about the importance of giving back. We can't grow as a business without growing as individuals, so we are committed to providing a workplace where passionate, driven individuals can thrive. We value collaboration, trust, positivity, and a willingness to learn - only by working as a team will we reach our goals.
We’re looking for a People Operations Generalist to help us build a People experience at Tillo that is simple, scalable and genuinely useful for our employees and managers. This is much more than an HR admin role. You’ll own core People operations across the employee lifecycle, payroll, systems, reporting and international operations, while helping us continually improve how People works at Tillo.
We have a great tech stack including HiBob, Ashby, Ravio and Notion, and we want someone who gets excited about making technology work harder for us. Designing great workflows, automating repetitive work, connecting our systems and making the experience at the other end feel effortless.
We want someone who regularly asks “could we do this better?”, but is pragmatic enough to know that not everything needs changing.
What you'll do
- Own and continually improve our People processes across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding being the key point of contact for all our new joiners.
- Take ownership of HiBob, building intuitive workflows, automations, reporting and self-service, working closely with IT and Finance teams to ensure seamless changes and transitions.
- Think about how HiBob, Ashby, Ravio and Notion work together to create a joined-up People experience.
- Design processes with the end user in mind: simple, clear and easy for managers and employees to navigate.
- Maintain accurate employee data, contracts and employment documentation across our international population.
Core People Programmes
- Working closely with the People Partner, you'll own the operational setup, reporting and manager enablement behind our core People approaches, including:
- Performance management and review cycles
- Compensation reviews
- Promotions
- Employee surveys and engagement
- Job architecture and salary benchmarking
- Talent and succession activity
- You'll make sure these aren't simply processes we run once or twice a year. You'll look at participation, outcomes and data, identify themes and help us understand what we should do differently as a result.
Payroll, Data & Analytics
- Manage payroll processes across multiple territories, working closely with Finance and external providers.
- Build strong controls to ensure employee and payroll data is accurate and delivered on time.
- Partner closely with Finance Reporting and FP&A on headcount, people costs and workforce reporting.
- Own regular People reporting across areas such as headcount, turnover, engagement and other key metrics.
- Build clear dashboards, reports and presentations that turn People data into useful insight.
- Spot trends, risks and opportunities and work with the CPO and People Partner to turn those insights into action.
- Accuracy really matters. You'll be responsible for people's pay and data that informs important business decisions.
International People Operations
- Support People Operations across our international locations.
- Manage operational relationships and processes with our Employers of Record (EORs).
- Support the establishment of new entities, payroll arrangements and employment processes as Tillo grows.
- Work with local teams, partners and advisers to create consistency while respecting local requirements.
Broader People Team
- You'll work closely across People, Talent and Finance, including connecting hiring and onboarding, workforce data and employee lifecycle processes.
- You'll also have the opportunity to support our People Partner on Employee Relations cases and broader People projects, giving you exposure beyond traditional People Operations.
About you
- You'll probably have experience in People Operations, HR Operations or a broad People generalist role and be ready for more ownership.
- We're looking for someone who:
- Has strong People Operations/generalist experience and understands the employee lifecycle.
- Has experience with payroll and appreciates just how important accuracy is.
- Is confident with HR technology and enjoys designing workflows, automation and better processes.
- Is comfortable with data, spreadsheets, dashboards and People analytics and can turn numbers into a story.
- Can create clear, professional reports and presentations for different audiences.
- Has experience supporting performance, compensation, engagement or other core People cycles.
- Is curious, organised and naturally looks for ways to improve how things work.
- Brings solutions, not just problems, and is confident enough to challenge existing approaches.
- Thinks about the employee or manager at the other end of every process.
- Is professional, approachable and trusted with sensitive information.
- Experience with HiBob, Ashby, Ravio or Notion, international People Operations, EORs or multi-territory payroll would be brilliant, but you don't need to tick every box.
Why this role?
People Operations at Tillo isn't just administration. It's about building the infrastructure that allows our People and our business to scale. You'll get exposure to People technology, automation, analytics, compensation, performance, international operations, payroll and broader People partnering, with plenty of opportunity to shape how we do things. If you enjoy the intersection of People, technology, data and problem-solving, you'll have a lot of fun with this one.
