THE ROLE
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Concrete Distribution Manager to support our concrete plants based at RWM House.The successful candidate will support various departments related to concrete distribution and will have experience in both concrete and logistics to ensure effective running of the department.
We are looking for a focused individual who is capable of supporting the various departments to deliver outstanding service levels and driving process improvement. Managing costs effectively and delivering meaningful KPI's is an essential part of this role.
The key to our success is our people, it is therefore essential that the successful candidate is a team player and excellent communicator.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibility for the day-to-day running of the department, ensuring adequate cover during holiday periods
Developing and managing professional relationships with new and existing customers
Deliver meaningful KPI's to the head of department
Improve truck utilisation, ensuring trucks are used as efficiently as possible
Liaising with customers to process and schedule orders for delivery
Liaising with the Transport Co-ordinator to ensure vehicles are utilised efficiently
Liaising with sites and staff to facilitate orders and deliveries
Managing first-stage complaints from customers
Ensure customer orders are co-ordinated efficiently
Arrange hauliers to cover workloads
Planning and preparing transportation schedules, and planning routes
Dealing with incoming customer enquiries
Communicating with other sites and staff to facilitate orders and deliveries
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
Logistical and/or planning experience
A good geographical knowledge of Central Scotland
Polite, professional and courteous approach to dealing with customers
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Good IT Skills, Word, Excel, Outlook
Concrete experiences would be beneficial but is not essential.
