Tillicoultry Quarries is a successful and fast-growing family-owned quarrying company and major supplier of aggregates, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete, mortar, render and sports sand to the building and road construction industry. We operate in over 35 sites throughout Central Scotland, the North East of England and East Anglia. Due to our continued success and rapid growth an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Site Operative based at our Clydebridge Asphalt and Concrete Depot.

The successful candidates should be customer focused, reliable, well organised and be able to work well as part of a team in a busy quarry environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate static and mobile plant machinery safely and efficiently
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintain accurate records
  • Perform maintenance and minor repairs within your competence
  • Refuel and clean machinery in line with manufacturer and company standards as part of the IMS accreditations
  • Use Front-End Loader for material movement, training provided
  • Report defects and near misses to site management
  • Uphold site safety standards
  • Travel to nearby sites may be required (allowances provided if applicable)
  • Assisting with material ordering, inventory management
  • Responsible for the efficient and accurate running of the Weighbridge function and all its related aspects
  • Assist in the operation of the site weighbridge in line with company policies, procedures and legislation
  • Work closely with other business departments to support the business needs
  • Dealing with customers directly and on the telephone
  • To follow and enforce site acceptance procedures for imported aggregates
  • Clerical and administration duties
