Tillicoultry Quarries is a successful and fast-growing family-owned quarrying company and major supplier of aggregates, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete, mortar, render and sports sand to the building and road construction industry. We operate in over 35 sites throughout Central Scotland, the North East of England and East Anglia. Due to our continued success, rapid growth and internal promotion an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quarry Manager based at our Northfield Hard Rock Quarry.

The successful candidate should be customer focused, reliable, well organised and be able to work well as part of a team in a busy site environment. The Site Northfield Quarry, situated close to Denny, is one of the largest Hard Rock Quarries in Scotland. With a high-capacity fixed crushing plant fed by in-house load and haul equipment, it provides aggregates to the wider Asphalt and Concrete business, its own two on-site asphalt plants, concrete plant, wash plant whilst also supplying the Scottish construction market across the Central belt of Scotland. Northfield also has its own workshop facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The safe and efficient management of the site and workshop;
  • Leadership, mentoring and guiding the team;
  • Lead and work as part of a large team;
  • Work closely with the production manager and other key stakeholders;
  • Ensure compliance with all planning and development requirements;
  • Ensuring that all plants meet operational and production requirements;
  • Meet site productivity targets;
  • Maintaining existing and implementing new Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments and training;
  • Proactively managing both mandatory training and developmental training of staff.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

  • At least 3 years experience managing and leading teams;
  • Hard Rock (including Drill & Blast), Asphalt and Concrete production experience;
  • Excellent awareness of current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation;
  • Completed, or be working towards, a SHE NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent);
  • Excellent understanding of Quarry Regulations 1999 and ACOP;
  • A good understanding of heavy plant and machinery, including maintenance planning.
