We are a growing SaaS start-up with an international team that brings maritime workforce management into the 21st century! Backed by strong investor support and with more than 10,000 crew changes executed in the platform each year and over 500 vessels globally, we’re passionate about solving overlooked problems in the maritime industry.
Over 90% of global trade depends on ships, and the 2 million mission-critical seafarers who operate them to keep our economy running. At Tilla, we’re dedicated to improving their lives, as well as the processes and colleagues on shore that support them. Our platform eliminates inefficiencies in crew logistics, streamlining collaboration between operators and seafarers. By doing so, we make crew operations more humane, efficient, and cost-effective.
Your Mission
As (Senior) Commercial Manager , you’ll take full ownership of a key territory and drive new business from lead to close. You’ll operate independently with the support of our founders and global team, and be a pivotal player in helping us scale revenue in a fast-moving and under-digitalized market. This is a high-impact, hands-on role suited to someone who is motivated by results, energized by customer conversations, and confident working autonomously in a startup environment.
What You’ll Do
- Execute the sales strategy in line with company goals— identifying prospects, building pipeline, and closing deals.
- Be proactive in hunting for new business opportunities.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach to negotiation and contract signing.
- Build strong relationships with prospects and customers, and become a trusted partner to maritime stakeholders.
- Work closely with the founders and cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Customer Success) to refine messaging, positioning, and customer onboarding experience.
- Represent Tilla at relevant conferences, virtual events, and meetings, being the face of the company in your region.
- Track activity, pipeline, and results using our CRM and reporting tools.
About You
You…
- Have 5+ years of experience in B2B SaaS sales, with a strong track record of closing six-figure ACV deals and managing long, complex sales cycles.
- Thrive in a hunter role — self-driven, proactive, and confident in outbound prospecting and lead generation.
- Are highly organised and able to manage your pipeline, meetings, and follow-ups independently.
- Are a clear and persuasive communicator, with excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
- Are entrepreneurial, resilient, and comfortable working in fast-paced and evolving environments.
- Operate with integrity at your core, delivering what you say you are going to deliver, and being trustworthy both internally and externally
- Have experience selling to operational or technical stakeholders in traditional industries (e.g., maritime, logistics, manufacturing, etc.).
- Are fluent in English. Additional languages relevant to the region are a plus.
- Are comfortable working remotely across time zones and with distributed teams.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of the shipping industry, especially crewing operations or maritime workforce challenges.
- Experience selling into mid-size to enterprise accounts in Europe, Middle East, or APAC.
Why Join Us
- Competitive salary plus great OTE
- Flexible working arrangements, including work-from-home and async-friendly culture
- Urban mobility allowance (where applicable)
- A chance to get in early at a purpose-driven startup with solid customer traction and a long-term vision
- The opportunity to help transform one of the world’s most critical and under-innovated industries
- A fun, collaborative, and ambitious team who values ownership, transparency, and real impact
