We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Operative to join a friendly team working from our Anglia region. This role is based at our Bury St Edmunds office and involves repairing and maintaining new build properties.
Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs on new build properties, including carpentry, preparation, making good, and other internal and external works, as instructed by the Customer Services Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of time, duration, scope of works, materials and plant used on each project.
- Ensure all works are undertaken safely, in accordance with best practice and current legislation.
- Request necessary materials and plan to ensure effective completion of the works, minimising waste and surplus materials.
- Communicate with customers, keeping them informed about the nature and duration of works, making appointments where needed and ensuring appointments are kept.
- Provide a customer‑focused service at all times.
- Carry out work in a courteous and professional manner, promoting the reputation of the association in all dealings.
- Communicate effectively and work productively with all other staff.
- Perform any other related tasks reasonably requested by the Customer Services Manager.
- Observe and comply with company policies and procedures for Health and Safety.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Formal training or experience in carpentry, basic plumbing, decoration or general maintenance is essential.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
