We have an exciting opportunity to join a friendly team in our Eastern Region on a 2 year course. The purpose of this role is to work and learn on site with the Construction teams delivering houses to a build programme. As a Trainee Site Manager, you will learn and develop skills within our construction department that may lead to a professional role in Site Management. You will be supported by a structured in-house training scheme and we will also support you through a relevant qualification. You will experience ongoing manager interaction, mentoring and regular progress meetings. In return we require you to be eager to learn and keen to get ahead.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for planning and co-ordinating both temporary and permanent site set ups/compounds
- Manage a build programme aligned with output, ensuring all new homes are produced to a consistently high standard
- Participate in the selection and procurement of supply chain, cost reviews and implement actions arising
- Assist with managing all directly employed staff and sub-contractors to enable production objectives are achieved
- Be prepared to accept responsibility as and when deputised by the Site Manager
- Take control of own learning and development
- Possess some industry specific experience
- Commercially aware with excellent organisational skills
- Great communicator, self-motivated and customer focused
This role is for someone who wants to train in role and will be supported by completion of the relevant NVQ NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Management (or working towards) or equivalent SSSTS Experience in the construction industry Ability to prioritise tasks to meet changing business needs Proficient IT skills - Office, Word, Excel Full UK Driving Licence
