Area Manager (Forestry) Location – Perth, Central Scotland, North Scotland Region Full Time Tilhill, the UK’s leading forest management company, is seeking to recruit an experienced forest manager to be a key senior member and team leader within our North Scotland Region forestry team in the role of Area Manager, based in our new Perth office. Reporting to the Deputy Regional Manager, you will lead our skilled team of forestry professionals, ensuring that forests, properties, and contracts are managed in accordance with the client’s objectives, to good silvicultural and commercial standards, delivered to agreed targets. As an Area Manager, you will also effectively develop and deliver new business opportunities as well as foster stakeholder relationships. The team currently manages 14,000ha of forests across 38 properties, has been responsible for award-winning woodland creation projects, and has several exciting projects in the pipeline. The role includes leadership and management oversight of the forestry team and their work within the company’s Assurance Management System. Reporting to the North Scotland Region Manager and Deputy Manager, alongside 4 other Area Managers, this is an exciting opportunity to drive growth and development in our business and industry. About You: We are looking for the following skills and experience: A minimum of 5 years of forest silviculture and management experience, including design, planning, and successful delivery of woodland creation projects. Relevant academic qualifications (degree or diploma in Forestry or other land-based subjects). Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body (or working towards this within 12 months of appointment). Sound knowledge of the UK Forestry Standard and UKWAS. Implementation of relevant Health & Safety standards and practice, ideally with IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent accreditation. Strong commercial and team leadership skills to manage a significant order book. Proven interpersonal and people management skills to engage constructively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
