Overview

Our client is seeking a Highly Skilled Tiler to join their team in Wincanton. The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with high-end domestic tiling projects and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. This role involves the planning, execution, and quality control of all tiling work on-site to ensure surfaces are completed to the highest standard.

What does the Tiler role entail

  • Execute all types of tiling installations, including walls, floors, and wet rooms to a professional finish.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to plan layout and materials.
  • Carry out surface preparation including levelling, priming, and waterproofing.
  • Cut and shape tiles using manual and power tools to fit around obstacles with precision.
  • Grout and seal finished installations ensuring durability and aesthetic quality.
  • Identify and carry out repairs to existing tiled surfaces.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment and comply with site regulations.
  • Work alongside other trades and site staff to coordinate work and minimise disruption.
  • Accurately record time, materials, and progress using site systems or handheld devices.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.

Requirements for the Tiler role

  • Proven experience in high-end tiling projects across commercial and domestic settings.
  • Excellent ability in cutting, laying, and finishing ceramic, porcelain, marble, stone, and mosaic tiles.
  • Understanding of underfloor heating systems, wet room tanking, and waterproofing methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
  • Ability to work from drawings, plans, and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety on construction sites.
  • Familiarity with adhesives, grouts, trims, and tile levelling systems.
  • Basic IT skills and willingness to use digital tools for job management and reporting.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Wall and Floor Tiling is advantageous.
