We are seeking a skilled Wall and Floor Tiler to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing tiles on walls and floors in a variety of residential and commercial projects. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics. The ideal applicant will have experience working with various tools and materials, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet client specifications.

Duties

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying necessary adhesives or primers
  • Measure and mark out tiling layouts according to schematics and project plans
  • Cut tiles accurately using hand tools, power tools, or specialised equipment to fit edges and around obstacles
  • Install wall and floor tiles with appropriate adhesives, ensuring proper alignment and spacing
  • Grout and seal tiled surfaces to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal
  • Assist with other construction tasks such as carpentry or painting as required
  • Maintain a clean work environment by tidying tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly
  • Interpret technical drawings and schematics to execute tiling projects precisely

Experience

  • Proven experience in wall and floor tiling within the construction industry
  • Skilled in using hand tools such as trowels, chisels, cutters, as well as power tools including drills and saws
  • Knowledge of construction practices, including carpentry, painting, and general building techniques
  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately
  • Familiarity with different tiling materials (ceramic, porcelain, natural stone) is desirable
  • Previous experience working on residential or commercial projects is advantageous
