Tilbury Douglas is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the design function across major projects (£10m+) within the water, process and engineering sectors.
As a key member of the senior project team, you’ll manage design from tender stage through construction delivery — driving innovation, buildability, value engineering and strong stakeholder collaboration.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams from bid through site delivery
- Develop innovative, cost-effective and buildable design solutions
- Manage client and stakeholder relationships across project stages
- Drive BIM and digital design coordination
- Oversee design programmes, deliverables and stage gate reviews
- Ensure CDM compliance, safety, quality and value engineering
- Support procurement of design-led subcontract packages
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Design Management experience on major projects (£10m+)
- Background in water, process, engineering or similar sectors
- Strong technical construction knowledge and site delivery focus
- Experience managing multi-discipline teams and complex interfaces
- Understanding of BIM, CDM Regulations and buildability principles
- Desirable: MEICA exposure, water industry standards, professional qualification
