As a Quantity Surveyor Degree Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in supporting the commercial management of our projects, helping to ensure they are delivered safely, efficiently and with strong commercial control, while developing the skills and knowledge needed for a long-term career in quantity surveying.
Location
This role will be based in the South Wales region, where you’ll work within our Regional Building and Commercial team.
What you’ll be doing
As a Quantity Surveyor Degree Apprentice, you’ll combine on-the-job learning with formal study, developing the skills and experience required to become a qualified Quantity Surveyor. You will study for the Degree Apprenticeship Quantity Surveying with University of Wales Trinity St David and gain a BSc (Hons) degree. With the support of experienced colleagues, you’ll:
- Assist with cost planning, estimating and budget control across live projects
- Support the preparation and management of valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
- Help procure subcontractors and suppliers, including reviewing tenders and supporting contract administration
- Monitor project costs, variations and change control to ensure commercial performance is maintained
- Assist with the preparation of reports on cost, value, risk and cashflow
- Learn how commercial processes support safe, high-quality and sustainable project delivery
- Collaborate with site, design and commercial teams to resolve commercial and contractual issues
- Build strong working relationships with project teams, clients and supply chain partners

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for people who are motivated, curious and keen to build a career in construction and commercial management. You’ll bring:
- Either Level 3 apprenticeship, or A levels or BTEC qualification
- Maths level 5 – 9 grade or B – A*
- A genuine interest in quantity surveying, commercial management and construction
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with a wide range of people
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with a willingness to learn and take responsibility
- A full UK driving licence (or working towards one by the time you start)
Previous construction or work experience is desirable but not essential.
