Health & Safety Manager

Tilbury Douglas is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our Regional Build team.

This is a key role responsible for supporting the safe and successful delivery of construction projects by providing expert health, safety and wellbeing advice across our regional operations.

Working closely with project teams, operational leaders and the wider HSWE function, you will champion Tilbury Douglas' commitment to creating safe, healthy and inclusive workplaces.

You will play an integral role in driving a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislative and company standards, and supporting the continuous improvement of health, safety and wellbeing performance across our projects.

As our Health & Safety Manager, you will

  • Provide expert health, safety and wellbeing advice and support to Tilbury Douglas project teams across the region.
  • Undertake site inspections, audits and investigations, ensuring findings are communicated and improvement actions are implemented.
  • Coach, mentor and support operational teams in the application of Tilbury Douglas health, safety and wellbeing policies and procedures.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to promote best practice and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support the delivery of training, incident investigations and regional initiatives that enhance health, safety and wellbeing performance.

About You

You will be an experienced Health & Safety professional with a proactive approach, excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for creating safe working environments.

You will bring

  • A NEBOSH Diploma (or Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Practice) and membership of IOSH or IIRSM, with a commitment to continued professional development.
  • Significant experience within the construction industry, ideally gained within a principal contractor or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and construction best practice.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive continuous improvement.
