About the Role

We are now recruiting for a Commissioning Engineer to join our Infrastructure - Water South team to work on sites situated in and around the Thames Valley Region. You will be an integral part of the Project Team and will assist in the effective and efficient commissioning management of the mechanical, electrical and public health services.

Responsibilities

  • Review tender documentation in terms of design / commissionability and prepare all necessary submission documentation in relation to commissioning / handover on tenders.
  • Assist in carrying out comprehensive commissioning review at design stage – review mechanical and electrical specifications / drawings / schematics / equipment selections / technical submittals and highlight any potential installation / commissioning issues.
  • Assist & prepare detailed commissioning plans and strategies.
  • Liaise with each Project Team, Building Services Manager / Engineer, Client, Consultant and Services Sub Contractors.
  • Attend commissioning meetings with each Project Team.
  • Review sub-contractor commissioning method statements and comment as necessary.
  • Assist & prepare weekly progress reports / monthly status reports, highlighting any potential issues.
  • Visit sites prior to planned commissioning to ensure that installation and the building itself are ready for commissioning.
  • Assist in organising and facilitating Client / Consultant witnessing of successful commissioning including sign off.
  • Assist & liaise with relevant Statutory Authorities to ensure compliance / sign off.
  • Collate all mechanical and electrical commissioning documentation for O&M manuals.
  • Assist in organising and facilitating Client systems demonstrations including sign off.
  • Attend / report / rectify any commissioning / snagging issues post practical completion throughout the defects liability period.

Qualifications

  • SMSTS safety qualification.
  • CSCS card.

Required Skills

  • Will be personable with good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of commissioning.
  • Willing to travel.

  • Car allowance - Green Car Scheme.
  • 26 days annual leave (with the opportunity to buy or sell up to 3 days holiday).
