You will support the Engineering Services Team in delivering high-quality CAD and BIM services across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will play a key role in developing coordinated designs and detailed models, with a particular focus on electrical and building services systems. This role requires proficiency in Revit and CAD platforms, along with an understanding of BIM processes and digital engineering delivery. You will contribute to efficient project delivery through accurate modelling, collaboration, and continuous improvement of design workflows. This role is a site-based role in a secure facility based in Cornwall.
What you will be doing:
- Produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D models, ensuring compliance with relevant local and national standards.
- Develop and coordinate models for electrical and building services systems, ensuring integration with civil, structural, and mechanical disciplines.
- Work collaboratively with all members of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting coordinated and clash‑free design delivery.
- Provide input into the pre‑construction Health & Safety Plan, including risk assessments and design risk management.
- Ensure all technical deliverables are produced in line with agreed timescales, budgets, and quality standards.
- Work cross‑functionally with internal teams and the supply chain to ensure project requirements are met and delivery is efficient.
- Participate in project and design review meetings, responding constructively to feedback, queries, and technical challenges.
- Support BIM processes including model coordination, data management, and adherence to BIM Level 2 standards and project BEPs.
- Undertake clash detection and coordination activities using tools such as Navisworks where required.
- Proactively research, develop, and implement innovative digital tools, workflows, and modelling techniques to improve output and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure models/drawings are managed in line with company and project requirements (e.g. ProjectWise).
What we need from you:
- Level 5 qualification or higher in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Good understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and building services coordination.
- Knowledge or experience of electrical systems (e.g. power, lighting, containment) within a building services environment is advantageous.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, with experience in Revit and other 3D modelling tools.
- Working knowledge of Navisworks, Plant3D, or Civil3D is desirable.
- Familiarity with MicroStation and ProjectWise is advantageous.
- Skilled in both 2D drafting and 3D modelling techniques.
- Good understanding of BIM processes and digital engineering workflows.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office 365.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
- A proactive and solutions‑focused mindset, with a passion for resolving design challenges using digital tools.
