Project Engineer Location: Derbyshire / South Yorkshire Reference: 12897 The Opportunity To drive and manage the MEICA elements (within your discipline area) of various waste water projects for Yorkshire Water and Severn Trent Water . Assist in the preparation of Tender submissions as part of ECI Contracts . Manage Subcontractors, Designers and feed into the overall delivery of the project including provision of close out documentation for handover of completed schemes , ensuring programme and budgets are constraints are met. Safety and Quality are paramount, and you will be responsible for inspections and testing to ensure Tilbury Douglas’ high standards are met. The Project Engineer will be fundamental member of the MEICA Team, Project Team and the wider Water North Team. It is intended the Project Engineer will be involved with specific schemes from ‘cradle to grave’ . The Project Engineer will support and encourage other members of the MEICA Team including Graduates and Apprentices. What you will be doing * Work with Pre Construction Team in respect of your particular discipline on the preparation and the submission of Tenders * Review Clients scope documents work with Design team at tender stage obtain quotations from discipline specific Suppliers * Technical expertise in the placement of subcontracts and material orders within your discipline area. * Vetting of subcontractors, inspecting their production, quality and installation. * Planning and programming. Supporting the wider Project Team to develop project programmes, prepare short term programmes for specific activities and contribute to regular collaborative planning sessions. * Maintain quality assurance records in accordance with the Company procedures, including ITPs and vesting. * Reviewing of subcontractors designs in accordance with TW Standards, for buildability, operation and maintenance. * Supporting with production of operating and maintenance manuals. * Attending site progress meetings and production of reports. * Coordination of MEICA works to support design progress with the Design Manager. * Inspection of equipment as required at factory and on site including FATs and SATs. * Advising the Quantity Surveyors of changes to specification and the financial impact on a project. * Technical assistance to the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor regarding contractual disputes if required. * Actioning snagging resolution and maintenance repairs during the defect’s liability period. * Site supervision of sub-contractors during critical activities. * Provide the required as built and close out documentation for your discipline with the project teams in a timely manner to meet with the overall Close out documentation process * To be aware of and follow the company Business Management System. What we will be need from you * Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Qualification. * Diploma/ Degree Qualification preferred * CITB 5 Day SMSTS (desirable). * CSCS Card (desirable). * EUSR Blue Card (desirable). * Experience of working in a contractor-based background within the water industry on sewage and water treatment works. * Understanding of NEC4 condition contract and budget control is desirable * Self-motivated and can work in a team environment at site , regional offices or from a home location as required * The person must be capable of supervising site staff if required. * Ideally be knowledgeable in all project engineer/management techniques required in the design and construction of water and/or sewage treatment works.
