Document Controller Reference:12890 The Opportunity Store, manage and track documents using the Viewpoint or Conject EDMS in line with company processes, procedures & policies. Police all project data & information received or generated during the project lifecycle. Regularly communicate with your project team, regarding incoming & outgoing data. Aid delivery of project documentation required for completion and handover. This role will be based out of our Stockton on Tees office with progression to be promoted to Regional Information Manager. What you will be doing * Administration of Document Control and Collaborative Software Environments. * Setting up projects within the EDMS using pre-defined templates. * Managing access rights and permission levels. * Maintaining document trackers, schedules and drawing registers utilising the agreed EDMS of choice. * Training and mentoring new users on the document management systems and best practice * Enforcing / re-enforcing the use of the EDMS throughout the business to internal & external customers to aid * project delivery. * Extending and promoting the use of information management best practices at all times to suppliers, clients and * sub-contractors, through training and demonstration. * Developing the use of the EDMS to suit business changes. * Support fellow staff members tasked with document control duties. * Change control to ensure project information is managed in accordance with the business unit procedures. * The role is 80% Document Control / 20% Administration. The company may require you to undertake duties other than those outlined in this job description and/or to undertake work in other departments/sites to meet customer demands. * These duties will be communicated via your line manager only. Any changes to this job description will be discussed and agreed with you * QA checking all incoming documentation across all regional projects. * Setting up of projects, breaking inheritance and adding additional modules (IMS, Procurement, Contracts) * Supporting Client Information Exchange by coordinating Consultant teams to ensure information is delivered in full and on time for CP submissions in supporting the project design manager. * Calibration of drawings to facilitate in field snagging when projects are on site. * Support project teams at operational phase with site presence. * Training and support of all project users, including Client, Consultants and Subcontractors. What we will need from you * Ability to travel to and work on-site in a construction environment. (Includes Multiple Sites) * Knowledge of collaborative software, and ideally Conject (BIW) or Viewpoint (4Projects) * A proactive and enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in information management within an engineering environment. Must be able to demonstrate working on own initiative, with effective time management. * Must be computer literate; with good Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) at an intermediate level * Ability to adapt quickly to changes in process and communicate to internal customer base. * Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro (or other PDF software) * Basic knowledge of SharePoint, Asite, Microsoft Visio, * Basic knowledge of Quality Assurance Systems * Basic knowledge of B.I.M.
