What You'll Do

Tilbury Douglas is a leading UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fit‑out company.

We deliver vital projects across a range of sectors including health, education, water, defence, justice and civic and civil estate.

Our schemes improve lives and strengthen communities.

You'll gain practical experience across a range of cyber security activities while working towards the Level 3 Cyber Security Technician Apprenticeship Standard.

  • No two days are the same and with the support of experienced colleagues, you'll:
  • Support the monitoring and maintenance of security controls designed to protect company systems and information.
  • Assist with identifying, investigating and escalating potential cyber security incidents.
  • Help maintain cyber security policies, standards and procedures.
  • Support information security audits and compliance reviews.
  • Assist with maintaining security risk registers and tracking remediation activities.
  • Help monitor vulnerabilities and support actions to reduce cyber security risks.
  • Contribute to cyber security awareness campaigns and training activities across the business.
  • Assist with access management processes, ensuring users have appropriate permissions.
  • Support the management of security documentation, records and reporting.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and third‑party suppliers to help maintain secure systems and services.
  • Assist with the investigation of suspicious activity and contribute to incident response activities.
  • Develop knowledge of security frameworks, legislation, standards and industry best practices.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to develop technical, analytical and problem‑solving skills while helping to protect a leading construction business from evolving cyber threats.

With structured training, mentoring and hands‑on experience, you'll build the foundations for a rewarding career in cyber security, information security, risk management or IT security operations.

By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll have the skills and confidence to progress into a Cyber Security role, with opportunities to develop further within Tilbury Douglas.

Qualifications

  • Essential - GCSE - Maths, English and Computer Science - 9 to 4

Course Information: Cyber security technician (level 3). Level: 3. Route: Digital Apprenticeship Level: Advanced.
