The Business Planning & Operations team take a strategic approach to driving impact cross-functionally across Tik Tok.
They work with multiple business units and senior stakeholders including, but not limited to, Category, Partnerships, Strategy, Governance & Experience and Data Science.
This team drives forward business growth and operational efficiency by providing significant business diagnosis and practical solutions through the use of analytical insights.
- Own the end-to-end strategy and business planning for designated business modules (e. g.
Merchant, Assortment, Creator), including strategy development, operating mechanism design, execution governance, and performance management.
- Lead strategic initiatives to drive business growth, including policy and incentive design, budget planning and governance, resource coordination, and cross-functional execution.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Category, Partnerships, Operations, Product, Governance & Experience, and Data Science to solve complex business challenges and translate strategic priorities into scalable execution plans.
- Leverage data-driven insights to conduct business diagnostics, identify growth opportunities and operational bottlenecks, evaluate strategy effectiveness, and continuously optimize business performance.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications
- Language: Fluent in Chinese to be able to work with Chinese internal teams based in Mainland China.
Fluency in English to be able to work with local stakeholders.
Skilled in collaborating with Mandarin-speaking and English-speaking accounts and cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless communication with global product teams and resource management.
- Demonstrable experience working in one or more of the following: Operational Strategy, Management Consulting, Growth Strategy, Business Planning, Commercial Strategy, or Commercial Analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex datasets and translate them into business strategies.
- Proven experience leading strategic projects, driving cross-functional collaboration, and influencing decision‑making across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong logical thinking, structured problem‑solving, and project management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complex cross‑functional environments.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a consumer‑focused environment such as Commerce, Retail, FMCG, Social Media, Technology, or Entertainment.
- Knowledge and understanding of business models similar to Tik Tok Shop and other content-driven commerce platforms.
- Experience in business planning, commercial strategy, marketplace strategy, or ecosystem operations within a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
