The Europe Tax team is building to work with other corporate functions on tax advisory, planning, structuring, and tax controversy. We ensure compliance with direct (corporate income tax) and indirect tax and solve tax related issues. TikTok is seeking an enthusiastic Direct Tax Advisory Manager/Senior Manager to join its Tax team in London and support its rapid business growth across Europe. The ideal candidate will have experience in direct tax advisory and governance within Europe, along with strong organisational skills. Proven corporate tax knowledge across multiple countries or the ability to apply strong technical expertise from one jurisdiction to others is highly desirable for this regional role.
Responsibilities:
- Direct Tax Compliance, Provisioning, and Payments: Prepare and collate data for tax filings across multiple European countries. Ensure timely filing of various direct tax returns, including corporation tax, withholding tax, and other local business taxes. Support central tax reporting requirements and review local tax accounting calculations. Manage direct tax payments, including forecasting and installment calculations.
- Tax Governance: Support efforts to enhance end-to-end tax controls and processes.
- Tax Business Partnering: Work closely with global Tax Business Partners, providing specialist local tax insights from both technical and operational perspectives.
- Tax Projects: Support various local tax initiatives, including tax incentive applications, Pillar 2, e-commerce, financing and Digital Services Taxes (DSTs).
- Tax Legislation Monitoring:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years experience in industry or a multinational accounting firm.
- Tax Expertise: Experience in both European direct tax advisory and governance.
- Project Management: Capable of owning projects and managing input from various tax vendors across Europe.
- Relationship Building: Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and vendors.
- Passion for learning: Passion for learning new tax concepts and conducting technical research.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Qualifications: Professional accountancy or tax qualifications such as ACA, CTA, or non-UK equivalents.
- Experience: Experience in the TMT industry and related tax issues.
- Accounting Knowledge: A good knowledge of accounting principles.
