As Legal Intern – Transactional Support, you will support the Investment Legal Team in London, with a particular focus on the review and coordination of legal documentation supporting investment activity.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing confidentiality agreements (NDAs) received by the investment teams, identifying key legal issues, flagging departures from internal positions or market standards, and helping to facilitate timely execution;
  • Supporting the review, drafting and negotiation of junior transaction documents, including NDAs, reliance letters, release letters, engagement letters and letters of intent;
  • Assisting the Investment Legal Team and investment professionals on transaction-related legal documentation and helping ensure that contemplated terms are consistent with internal requirements and relevant market practice;
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders, including Funds Legal, Corporate Legal, Tax, Compliance, Finance and Treasury, to help ensure that applicable internal policies, approvals and procedures are followed;
  • Acting as a first point of support for day-to-day legal queries from the London investment teams, escalating matters where appropriate;
  • Maintaining, organising and updating legal precedents, templates and internal know-how materials used by the investment teams;
  • Tracking documentation workflows and execution processes to help ensure efficient turnaround and accurate record-keeping;
  • Supporting coordination with external counsel and other third parties, including service providers, counterparties and public or regulatory authorities where relevant.

Candidate Profile:

  • Holds a law degree (or equivalent) or GDL and/or LPC qualification;
  • Good expertise of Microsoft Office;
  • Fluent in English – additional languages would be a real bonus given our presence across Europe, Asia and North America;
  • Flexible, proactive, enthusiastic and possesses strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
  • Motivated, results-oriented, a team player and wishes to thrive and learn in an entrepreneurial and dynamic company.
