As an intern, you will support the Investment Legal Team in London. Duties include:
- Supporting investment teams in structuring investments and ensuring that the contemplated terms reflect market-accepted standards for the relevant asset class;
- Assisting investment teams with the review, negotiation and execution of investment transaction documents to implement and document transactions;
- Focusing on the review and drafting of junior transaction documents (e.g., NDAs, reliance letters, release letters, engagement letters and letters of intent);
- Liaising with Funds Legal, Corporate Legal, Tax, Compliance, Finance and Treasury to ensure that all applicable regulations and internal procedures are properly implemented by the investment teams;
- Handling ad hoc legal issues relating to the investment teams and acting as a point of contact for legal queries from the wider London office;
- Maintaining and updating the precedent legal database for the investment teams;
- Helping to coordinate with supervisory authorities, public authorities, external legal advisers and service providers (including notaries and custodians).
Candidate Profile
- Strong academic background, with a law degree from a reputable university;
- LPC qualified, preparing for / on track to pass the SQE, or following an equivalent legal qualification route;
- Prior experience as a paralegal, legal intern or in a comparable legal support role is preferred;
- Strong drafting, organisational and communication skills;
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
- Additional language capabilities are welcomed, particularly French, Spanish, Italian, English and German.
