About the Role<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead the end -to -end repair, refurbishment and operational management of a busy technical workshop supporting a large -scale, customer -facing technology environment.<\/span>
<\/p>

The successful candidate will provide both strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the efficient repair of electronic equipment, effective resource planning, high -quality technical outputs and continuous improvement across workshop operations.<\/span>
<\/p>

You will manage a multidisciplinary team including Workshop Team Leaders, Repair Engineers, Technical Specialists and Administrative Support, whilst also overseeing third -party logistics providers to ensure seamless delivery of services.<\/span>

Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

  • Lead the day -to -day operation of the technical workshop, ensuring the timely repair, refurbishment and testing of returned equipment and assets.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Provide leadership to Workshop Team Leaders, Repair Engineers, Technical Specialists, Stores personnel and Administrative staff to ensure consistent service delivery.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, repair procedures, health and safety requirements and agreed service performance measures.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical and operational issues arising within the workshop.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Plan and prioritise repair activities, allocating resources and technical expertise to maximise productivity and turnaround times.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Oversee stock control, spare parts availability and inventory management, working closely with logistics and stores functions.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Drive workforce development through coaching, performance management, skills development and succession planning.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Manage relationships with third -party logistics providers, ensuring service level agreements are achieved and operational performance is maintained.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Support forecasting, capacity planning, budgeting and operational improvement initiatives alongside senior leadership.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Produce regular management reports covering workshop performance, repair turnaround times, quality metrics, risks and continuous improvement activities.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Identify opportunities to improve workshop efficiency, repair processes and overall operational performance.<\/span>

    Skills & Experience<\/span><\/b>
    <\/p>

    Essential<\/span><\/b>
    <\/p>

    • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Significant experience managing technical workshop operations, repair centres or engineering service environments.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Strong understanding of electronic, electro -mechanical and PC -based equipment diagnostics, repair and refurbishment.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams within operational environments.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Strong knowledge of quality assurance, operational governance and continuous improvement methodologies.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Experience planning resources, managing workflow and balancing multiple repair priorities.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Demonstrable experience delivering against operational KPIs such as repair turnaround times, quality targets and service performance measures.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience managing third -party suppliers or logistics partners.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Strong organisational, analytical and problem -solving skills.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Ability to perform effectively in fast -paced, high -volume, quality -driven operational environments.<\/span>

      Desirable<\/span><\/b>
      <\/p>

      • Experience supporting customer -facing technology, payment systems, access control, ticketing equipment or similar operational hardware.<\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Knowledge of workshop quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.<\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Experience with inventory management, spare parts planning and logistics coordination.<\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Background in diagnostic engineering, fault finding, root cause analysis or repair methodology development.<\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks.<\/span>
