Sales and Revenue Manager 9 Month Fixed-Term Contract London | Hybrid Working The Opportunity A leading global technology and engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Sales and Revenue Manager to support a major, high-profile programme within the UK public transport sector.
The role will take responsibility for sales operations, retail revenue, revenue assurance and associated financial controls across a complex fare collection environment.
You will oversee high-volume, multi-channel sales activity, ensuring sales and payment data is accurately captured, reconciled and reported, while maintaining strong financial controls and compliance with contractual requirements.
This is a senior role requiring a combination of revenue assurance, payments, retail operations and commercial/financial management experience.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage sales operations across multiple retail channels, including ticket machines, ticket offices and wider retail networks.
Take accountability for end-to-end revenue integrity, ensuring sales data is accurately captured, reconciled and reported.
Oversee fare media and cash payment processes, including authorisation, settlement and transaction reconciliation.
Manage relationships and processes involving payment services and merchant acquirers .
Oversee the operational and financial aspects of fare media issuance and enablement, including individual and bulk encoding, fare product loading and secure distribution.
Lead the preparation of sales, revenue, budget, forecast and variance reporting.
Ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided to key stakeholders.
Act as a senior commercial and revenue interface with the customer, leading discussions around sales performance, revenue assurance and financial matters.
Maintain appropriate financial controls, audit processes and revenue assurance frameworks.
Provide leadership across sales, retail operations and revenue functions, establishing clear processes, controls and performance measures.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
Ideally 10+ years’ experience within retail sales, revenue, commercial management or revenue assurance in a regulated or complex operational environment.
Strong experience managing high-volume retail transactions and multi-channel sales environments .
Experience of revenue reconciliation and apportionment .
Direct experience working with payment services, merchant acquirers and settlement processes .
Demonstrable responsibility for financial risk and revenue assurance .
Experience working with financial reporting systems, audit and assurance frameworks.
Strong understanding of data-driven reporting and reconciliation processes.
Excellent senior stakeholder and customer management skills, ideally including experience working with public-sector organisations or authorities.
Ability to operate effectively within complex contractual and high-assurance environments.
Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an MBA would be advantageous.
