Transition Project Manager<\/b><\/span><\/h1>About the Role<\/b><\/span><\/h2>We are seeking an experienced Transition Project Manager to lead the successful transition of a large -scale operational technology programme from project delivery into business -as -usual (BAU) service operations.<\/p>This is a critical role responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering all transition activities, ensuring operational readiness across service management, engineering, maintenance, logistics, support functions and customer operations.<\/p>Working with both project delivery and operational teams, you will ensure all contractual, technical and operational obligations are met before service acceptance. You will manage multiple stakeholders, coordinate transition plans, mitigate risks and ensure a seamless handover with minimal operational disruption.<\/p>Key Responsibilities<\/b><\/span><\/h2>Lead the end -to -end transition of a complex technology programme from implementation into live operational service.<\/li>Develop and maintain the Transition Management Plan, ensuring all workstreams are aligned and delivered to agreed milestones.<\/li>Coordinate transition activities across engineering, software, infrastructure, service desk, field services, logistics, training and customer operations.<\/li>Ensure operational readiness by validating people, processes, documentation, tooling, support models and governance before service acceptance.<\/li>Manage transition risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, ensuring timely mitigation and escalation where appropriate.<\/li>Act as the primary point of contact for transition activities with internal stakeholders, customers and third -party suppliers.<\/li>Coordinate service acceptance activities, ensuring contractual deliverables, acceptance criteria and operational requirements have been satisfied.<\/li>Oversee knowledge transfer from project delivery teams into operational support teams.<\/li>Ensure all operational documentation, support procedures, maintenance schedules and service management processes are complete and approved.<\/li>Work closely with Service Delivery Managers to establish support models, KPIs, SLAs and governance structures.<\/li>Manage change control throughout the transition phase, ensuring all changes are assessed, approved and implemented effectively.<\/li>Monitor transition progress, providing regular reporting to senior leadership on milestones, risks, budget, resource requirements and overall programme health.<\/li>Support lessons learned activities and continuous improvement initiatives following successful service transition.<\/li><\/ul>Skills & Experience<\/b><\/span><\/h2>Essential<\/b><\/span><\/h3>Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Information Technology, Project Management or another relevant technical discipline.<\/li>Significant experience managing complex transition, mobilisation or service handover projects.<\/li>Proven experience delivering projects from implementation through to operational acceptance and BAU support.<\/li>Strong understanding of Service Transition principles within large -scale operational environments.<\/li>Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across engineering, software, infrastructure, operations and support functions.<\/li>Excellent project planning and scheduling skills using recognised project management methodologies.<\/li>Experience managing project risks, budgets, resources and stakeholder communications.<\/li>Strong understanding of governance, change management, quality assurance and operational readiness.<\/li>Experience working within contractual environments involving customer acceptance milestones.<\/li>Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.<\/li><\/ul>Desirable<\/b><\/span><\/h3>Professional Project Management qualification (PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, APM PMQ or equivalent).<\/li>ITIL Foundation or ITIL Managing Professional certification.<\/li>Experience transitioning complex operational technology, transport technology, smart infrastructure, telecommunications or mission -critical systems into live service.<\/li>Experience managing third -party suppliers and subcontractors during mobilisation or transition phases.<\/li>Knowledge of operational support models including Service Desk, Field Service, Asset Management and Maintenance operations.<\/li>Experience with RAID management, governance reporting and programme controls.<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/span>
