Business Development Manager - Critical National Infrastructure
Location: UK-wide (Hybrid / Field-based)
Salary: Up to £80,000 + Uncapped commission
We’re working with a leading global systems integrator to support the search for a Business Development Manager focused on the Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) sector. This is a strategic role aimed at driving growth across key verticals including Transport, Water, and Power.
The Role:
As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, developing and executing go-to-market strategies, and building strong relationships with decision-makers. You’ll lead the full sales cycle—from initial engagement through to proposal development and deal closure—while working closely with internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the CNI sector
- Build and manage a high-performing sales pipeline
- Lead proposal development and coordinate sales pursuit teams
- Present solutions to senior stakeholders and manage objections
- Engage with strategic partners and influencers to support growth
- Contribute to talent referral initiatives and internal culture-building
About You:
- Proven experience in business development or strategic sales within the Transport, Water, or Power sectors
- Strong understanding of electronic security solutions (e.g. CCTV, access control, fire/intruder alarms)
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Commercially minded with strong financial and analytical capabilities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, structured environment
- Experience leading proposals and influencing internal teams
Requirements:
- 5–7 years’ sales experience, including at least 2 years in electronic security or a related field
- Relevant education or equivalent industry experience
- NICET Level III or higher (preferred but not essential)
