Our client is seeking a Product Manager to take ownership of their Rolling Stock vertical with a focus on amplifiers and custom intercom solutions. Additionally, this role will pick up responsibility for various other products in the portfolio over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Ownership (Rolling Stock – Primary Focus): Own the product lifecycle for amplifiers and custom intercom solutions within the Rolling Stock market. Define and maintain the product roadmap aligned with customer and market requirements. Gather, prioritise, and translate customer needs into product specifications. Work closely with Engineering to deliver solutions that meet performance, compliance, and cost targets. Ensure products meet relevant rail standards and project-specific requirements.
  • Technical Owner and, at times, Solution Architect: Support product launches, documentation, marketing, and internal alignment.
  • Business Development & Customer Engagement: Act as a key interface between customers, Sales, and internal teams. Support and lead customer discussions, technical presentations, and solution development. Identify and develop opportunities with OEMs, operators, and system integrators. Build and maintain strong relationships across the Rolling Stock sector.
  • Bids, Quotations & Compliance: Prepare and support technical proposals, quotations, and bid submissions. Develop and manage compliance matrices against customer specifications. Ensure solutions are technically robust, compliant, and commercially competitive. Work with Sales to support pricing strategy and bid positioning.
  • General Product & Team Support: Provide broader product management support across the portfolio as required. Assist with customer queries, technical clarifications, and issue resolution. Support product launches, documentation, and internal alignment. Contribute to continuous improvement of processes within a small team environment.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • Proven experience within the Rolling Stock / Rail industry.
  • Knowledge of relevant rail / metro standards.
  • Experience in product management, applications engineering, or technical sales.
  • Strong understanding of PAVA systems, amplifiers, SIP-based intercoms, or related communication systems.
  • Experience preparing quotations, tenders, and compliance documentation.
  • Ability to interpret complex specifications and translate them into deliverable solutions.
  • Strong commercial awareness and customer-facing experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with Rolling Stock OEMs and integrators.
  • IP networking experience.
