The Role: As a Cloud Solutions Architect, you’ll sit at the intersection of pre-sales, architecture, and hands-on delivery—playing a critical role in both winning and delivering high-quality Azure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Sales & Solution Design
- Lead technical pre-sales engagements, ensuring solutions are deliverable, scalable, and commercially sound.
- Run customer discovery workshops and cloud assessments across infrastructure, security, identity, and governance.
- Translate findings into clear recommendations, roadmaps, and executive-level outputs.
- Produce high-quality artefacts including SOWs, high-level designs (HLDs), and effort estimates.
- Act as technical sign-off authority for solutions before they are presented to customers.
- Support bids, RFPs, and customer presentations as the trusted technical expert.
- Delivery & Technical Leadership
- Lead delivery of complex Azure projects including migrations, landing zones, and platform builds.
- Design and implement Azure environments aligned to Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) best practices.
- Own technical quality from project kick-off through to service transition.
- Act as the escalation point for technical issues, risks, and dependencies.
- Ensure delivery stays aligned to agreed scope, timelines, and effort.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong technical culture.
- Practice Development
- Contribute to repeatable service offerings, frameworks, and best practices.
- Build reusable artefacts including assessment tools, templates, and reference architectures.
- Stay current with Azure and Microsoft technology developments and share knowledge internally.
The Candidate
We’re looking for a well-rounded Cloud Architect who is equally comfortable in front of customers, designing solutions, and leading delivery.
You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in a Cloud Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales Architect, or Senior Consultant role.
- Strong experience across the full lifecycle: discovery, design, SOW creation, and delivery.
- Hands-on delivery experience with Azure migrations, landing zones, and cloud platforms.
- Ability to balance technical excellence with commercial awareness (scope, effort, margin).
- Confidence leading customer workshops and engaging with both technical and business stakeholders.
Technical Expertise In
- Azure architecture (IaaS & PaaS).
- Networking, identity, and security (Entra ID, Conditional Access, networking design).
- Azure migration tools and approaches (Azure Migrate, wave planning).
- Governance and monitoring (Policy, Log Analytics, Azure Monitor).
- Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform, or similar).
Desirable
- Experience with hybrid cloud (Azure Arc, VMware, etc.).
- Exposure to security and compliance tooling (Defender, Sentinel, Purview).
- Understanding of FinOps or cost optimisation practices.
Certifications
- AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert) — preferred or working towards.
- AZ-104 (Azure Administrator Associate) — strongly desirable.
