Responsibilities

  • Providing teaching and support to pupils, following individualised curriculums/plans
  • Preparing and delivering lessons and activities, focusing on communication and life skills
  • Supporting pupil participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice
  • Providing behaviourally based support to replace and reduce behaviours that impact quality of life
  • Monitoring pupil progress to ensure teaching is appropriate and effective for each child
  • Assisting with breaktime duties including playground support and snack times
  • Providing personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain hygiene (toileting, feeding) as required
