We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Civils Site Manager to lead our civil projects within our water network infrastructure operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage site teams, including subcontractors and workers, to ensure efficient and safe project execution.
- Provide technical guidance and supervision on civil engineering tasks.
- Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Ensure all work meets industry standards and regulations, conducting inspections, quality checks, and implementing necessary corrective actions.
- Conduct pre-start preparations, including RAMS, contracts, and program setup.
- Coordinate plant and resource requirements with the Project Manager.
- Ensure knowledge and compliance with key contract areas.
- Oversee daily site operations and complete all necessary paperwork (toolbox talks, safety briefings, LOLER, PUWER, excavation inspections, etc.).
- Ensure all jobs are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Maintain exemplary communication with stakeholders to promptly identify and address early warnings.
- Ensure health and safety protocols are clearly communicated and strictly followed, while upholding high standards of safety and quality.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience: Civils Site Management in the water and utilities industry.
- Certifications: CSCS Managers Card (level 6+), SMSTS training, CPCS Lift Supervision and Signalling, EUSR Blue Card, full UK driving licence.
- Regulations: Knowledge of CDM2015, especially for the Principal Contractor role.
- Health & Safety: IOSH or NEBOSH standard (obtained or in progress).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in NEC 3 and 4, understanding contracts and BoQ.
- IT Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office packages.
- Customer Service: Strong focus.
- Soft Skills: Influencing, organisational, problem-solving, leadership, team collaboration.
- Personality Traits: Assertive, confident, friendly, adaptable, safety-conscious, tolerant, punctual, flexible.
