Senior Drainage Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Drainage Engineer with a consultancy background to join our established infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of drainage design, from feasibility studies to detailed design for both highway and on-plot drainage.

Markides Associates is an independent consultancy specializing in transport planning, infrastructure design, and drainage services. We work on a diverse range of projects across the UK, including residential developments, commercial schemes, and infrastructure projects.

About the Role

We require a qualified and experienced Senior Drainage Engineer to join our team. Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering drainage designs for various projects, adhering to relevant standards and guidelines;
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing tasks effectively;
• Collaborating with colleagues, clients, and contractors to achieve project goals;
• Preparing technical reports, Flood Risk Assessments, and other documentation;
• Maintaining knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

• A degree in Civil Engineering or related field;
• At least 5 years’ experience in a consultancy environment, preferably with a focus on drainage design;
• Proficiency in industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and InfoDrainage;
• Chartered status or working towards chartership;
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
