Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Norfolk. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.
We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties). We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Norfolk.
Targeted Provision supports educational and social-emotional development by keeping the team around the child, with ongoing support from our SEN / SEND Support Specialists. This role is suitable for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who prefer 1:1 tutoring in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed approach to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
- Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
- Young people are referred by local authorities and schools and require support in educational and social-emotional areas
- Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
Tasks and responsibilities
- Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
- Provide holistic, engaging sessions tailored to the young person’s needs and progress
- Complete lesson reports and provide progress feedback
Requirements
- Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
- Minimum 2 years teaching experience
- Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
- Understanding of safeguarding processes
- Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost if needed)
- Two professional references
- Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, including for remote/online work
- Ability to promote health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and to follow safeguarding policies
Employment status
- Engage as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
- Contract for service and payment via PAYE
- No guaranteed amount of work or expenses coverage
- Insurance covers the work you do
- Not a self-employed position
