The RN practices professional nursing within the legal and ethical framework established by the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Scope and Standards for Nursing Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the YNHHS Professional Practice Model. The role of the RN includes leadership, delegation, collaboration, effective communication, and ensuring quality outcomes. YNHHS nurses practice within our professional practice model, \”Achieving outcomes through Autonomy and Accountability.\” We value Nursing Professional Governance and support evidence-based practice centered on the patient and family. Responsibilities Standards of Practice: RN practice is guided by the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice (2015). It includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. RNs collect pertinent data, analyze it, develop care plans, implement and coordinate care, promote health, and evaluate progress. Standards of Professional Performance: The RN demonstrates competent behavior in ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, resource utilization, and environmental health. RNs are accountable for their actions and practice ethically, promoting diversity and inclusion, effective communication, leadership, ongoing education, and environmental safety. Qualifications Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred. Current BCLS certification required within one month of hire. Experience: All RNs are encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical program. Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience, pediatric experience preferred. Licensure: Current RN license in Connecticut. Specialty certification encouraged. Skills & Physical Demands: Prolonged standing, walking, sensory skills, exposure to infectious diseases and emotional stress, physical strength to assist with patient mobility, and ability to lift up to 300 pounds. Additional Information RN must have a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience (pediatric experience preferred). PALS certification required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
