Work where you matter. A Brief Overview Responsible for operating radiologic equipment including c-arms and ERCP equipment to make clinical diagnostic images as directed by physicians. Performs routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices. What You Will Do Prepare patients and adjust equipment for taking exposure. Position patients for procedures. Collaborate with physicians to obtain optimal images. Determine proper voltage and current, desired exposure time, and practice ALARA. Adjust lead shields to protect unaffected body parts from radiation exposure. Select DR plate and insert into holder or improvise setup. Position equipment at proper distance and angles. Activate machinery safely. Arrange immobilization devices to ensure precise positioning and patient comfort. Operate c-arm equipment to provide quality images for surgeons. Coordinate surgery schedules to ensure excellent radiology service for surgeons. Perform clerical duties related to PACS and Teleradiology. Take x-ray images in other hospital areas with portable equipment. Transport equipment safely and observe sterile techniques. Assist with staff and student training and orientation. Mentor and educate students in Radiological Technology. Produce high-quality digital images suitable for radiologist interpretation. Maintain records for the Radiology Department, Quality Assurance, accreditation, OSHA, or legal requirements.
