About

Our client is looking for a qualified and experienced Property Inspector – Mechanicalto join their Public Buildings Team. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance across the Councils public building portfolio, ensuring that all mechanical plant and equipment is fully compliant, well maintained, and operating efficiently.

The role focuses on commercial heating and ventilation systems, with additional responsibilities related to fire suppression systems. Youll be responsible for inspecting plant, coordinating with contractors, maintaining statutory records, and ensuring safe and effective mechanical operations in public facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned and reactive maintenance to commercial heating and ventilation systems
  • Support compliance with statutory and mandatory requirements for mechanical plant and building services
  • Carry out regular site inspections to monitor plant condition and identify faults
  • Issue instructions to mechanical term contractors and assist in managing their performance
  • Liaise with building users and responsible persons regarding mechanical issues
  • Contribute effectively in team meetings and discussions
  • Maintain accurate records using IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Essential Requirements

  • SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Commercial Boiler Installation/Maintenance and/or Controls
  • OR equivalent accredited training that demonstrates competence in boiler operation, maintenance, and safety
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Experience working with commercial heating systems
  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices

Preferred Qualifications And Experience

  • CSCS card
  • Asbestos awareness certification
  • Experience working within a Local Authority or public sector organisation
  • Experience operating on construction sites
