Job Title: Principal Signal Processing Engineer Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight Salary: Circa £65 k depending on skills and experience Put yourself into a dynamic Principal Signal Processing Engineer role at the forefront of real world demands in the defence industry. Alongside ensuring operational excellence for our existing products, there will be the opportunity to develop next generation radar products to counter emerging threats and contribution to our strategy for new technology. Your new day-to-day will be exciting and diverse by applying the principles of Engineering across the entire engineering development lifecycle as you join in developing radar systems used by those who serve and protect us. What you’ll be doing: · Supporting the design and development of a signal processing platform for next-gen radar systems, using Systems Engineering principles (ISO 15288) throughout the project · Working closely with design leads, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to align technical efforts · Managing system and sub-system requirements using IBM DOORS Next and helped create design specifications · Building MATLAB models to support algorithm development, testing, and performance validation · Planning and carrying out integration and testing of the signal processing platform within the overall radar system · Encouraging best practices in design, modelling, and integration to deliver reliable and scalable radar solutions Your skills and experience: • Strong, detailed understanding of Signal Processing algorithms and their implementation in real-time, software-driven environments • Clear understanding of the interaction between algorithms, software, and hardware platforms • Solid knowledge of applied mathematics and proficiency in MATLAB modelling • Higher education qualification (or equivalent experience) in a STEM discipline •Experience applying complex Signal Processing techniques within radar system development As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing, and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.
