Job Title: Hydropower Engineer

The Hydropower Engineer will act as a working supervisor responsible for the operation, maintenance, and lifecycle projects of a 25MW hydro scheme.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise and manage the daily activities of the onsite team.
  • Play a key role in the planning and management of scheduled and unscheduled outages within the hydro project’s annual maintenance schedule.
  • Manage maintenance and lifecycle projects to ensure the long-term upkeep of the hydro scheme.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
  • Utilize CMMS and SCADA systems for monitoring and administration of work.
  • Liaise with the offsite control centre for monitoring and operational purposes.
  • Coordinate and manage specialist subcontractors for various maintenance and lifecycle tasks.
  • Manage and participate in an on-call rota to fulfill 24/7 response protocols.
  • Report to the Site Manager and provide regular updates on project status and site conditions.

Requirements:

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and project management.
  • HND, degree or equivalent beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication skills for effective liaison with offsite control centres and subcontractors.

Working Conditions:

Primarily site-based with the ability to work from home and at GHR office in Evanton (Depot) and Perth (Fin & Admin).

Full-time position with potential for overtime during peak project periods.
