Responsibilities
- Lead a Residential Children's Home in line with Ofsted regulations and the home's Statement of Purpose.
- Ensure safeguarding and welfare of children, creating an environment where individuals are heard, respected and valued.
- Assess and develop plans to meet the needs of the children to ensure the most appropriate service provision.
- Deliver comprehensive training and development programmes to enable the team to have the necessary skills and levels of expertise.
- Develop appropriate relationships with staff, children, external agencies and other stakeholders.
- Actively co-ordinate the service provision, becoming the focal point for support, advice and coaching to the team within the home.
- Promote best practice in trauma-informed care and the therapeutic relationships between staff, children and their families.
- Collaborate with other Managers as part of the Management Team and work effectively in partnership with referrals, Placing Authorities and the Local Authority.
- Recruit new team members in line with Safer Recruitment protocols.
- Lead on team and HR matters in accordance with policy and employment law.
About You / Qualifications
- At least two years proven managerial / supervisory experience in a position relevant to the residential care of children and children's homes.
- Experience supervising and managing a team of childcare practitioners.
- An exceptional role-model to your team, demonstrating a professional approach, positive behaviours and attitude.
- Minimum Level 4 in Children, Young People.
