We are currently partnering with a bespoke Fire, Security and IT Solutions design, installation and support provider operating on Major Construction and Mission Critical projects across Europe. Due to continued success, they are seeking an Environmental Specialist to join them on a Power & Renewables project in Inverurie.

Responsibilities

  • Planning & Environmental Assessments: Lead the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and other planning documents to support project approvals, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and environmental standards.
  • Ecological & Habitat Management: Oversee ecological surveys and manage strategies for protecting local wildlife, habitats, and biodiversity in line with conservation requirements and best practices.
  • Environmental Permitting & Compliance: Secure and manage environmental permits for construction and operational phases, ensuring continuous compliance with environmental legislation and renewable energy sector standards.
  • Stakeholder & Regulator Coordination: Engage with regulatory bodies, local communities, and environmental consultants to communicate environmental plans and manage feedback and concerns related to the windfarms impact.
  • Construction Environmental Management: Develop and implement Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs), monitoring site activities for risks such as soil erosion, water contamination, noise, and turbine impact on avian species.

Requirements

  • Degree level qualification in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of Scottish and UK environmental legislation.
  • 3+ years experience in a similar position on large-scale projects such as windfarms.
