Our Environmental Root Cause Analysis Specialists will work within a team of RCA and Technical Specialists within the River Health team by ensuring collaboration across clean water and wastewater service delivery teams. This integrated approach helps identify and address root causes of environmental incidents, fostering cross-functional improvements and aligning RCA activities with Yorkshire Water\’s strategic goals.
By overseeing thorough investigations of environmental incidents and implementing effective root cause analysis strategies, the role directly contributes to Yorkshire Water\’s commitment to environmental protection. This role ensures that corrective actions are not only effective but also sustainable, supporting the company\’s long-term environmental objectives whilst ensuring 100% compliance.
Where You Fit In:
As one of ourEnvironmental Root Cause Analysis Specialists, you will:
Support and embrace proactive ways of working to reduce both first-time and repeat failures, contributing to the delivery of our performance commitments
Following the initial response to a potential environmental incident, you will complete a root cause analysis, appropriate to the categorisation of the incident, to determine the cause and corrective actions
Oversee and ensure that all environmental incidents are investigated thoroughly to identify root causes accurately
You will work closely with clean water and wastewater service delivery colleagues in determining and documenting the root cause and will allocate and track completion of actions
You will arrange regular meetings with wastewater operations to review all incident RCAs with the appropriate operational team, agree the cause and close out the RCA
Ensure delivery of our in year regulatory Performance Commitments on total and serious pollutions to avoid financial penalties through effective end-to end incident management
What Skills & Qualifications You Will Need:
Proficiency in RCA tools and techniques
Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft applications, YW telemetry and ICOM systems
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, proficient in the use of SAP and Odyssey
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Good understanding of wastewater assets and common failure modes
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to build and maintain a network of working relationships both internally and externally
A full valid EU driving licence and use of a car
You Will Also Benefit From Having:
Outline understanding of Electrical and Mechanical controls
Outline understanding of YW business processes
Certifications in RCA methodologies and environmental management are highly desirable
Several years of experience in environmental RCA or a related field
Proven track record of successfully conducting RCA investigations and managing outcomes
