Pay: £14.01per hour
Hours: 8:00am 7:00pm on a rolling 2-week rota

At Borough Care, we believe every day is a chance to brighten someones life. As a Care Home Cook, youll play a vital stand-alone role in our care home not just preparing meals but creating a warm and enjoyable dining experience for our residents.
About The Role
This is not your average kitchen job. As a Care Home Cook at Borough Care, you will:
- Independently prepare and serve meals to meet residents individual dietary and nutritional needs. The main & light meals are supplied as frozen ready prepared meals which require reheating where strict HACCP controls are required.
- Be expected to provide light breakfasts, freshly made soups & sandwiches in addition to the prepared meals.
- Be able to use your creativity with ad hoc events and birthdays for the residents.
- Be working independently, so you\’ll need to manage your time effectively throughout the shift and stay organised.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene and ensure all food safety standards are met.
- Be required to use an electronic system to update records.
- Support care staff at service times with serving meals mealtimes.
- Be a friendly, familiar face in the home a valued team member who residents rely on daily.
- Be expected to maintain stock control and complete ordering for the home.
What Were Looking For
- Previous experience in catering, food preparation or a kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of hygiene audit systems as well as ordering systems.
- Previous experience with stock control.
- Compassion, patience and a genuine interest in the wellbeing of older people.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative during long shifts.
- Reliability and flexibility to work the 10-hour shift pattern or part-time, as needed.
