Are you passionate about construction and changing lives through hands-on learning? At Skills Centre Plus (part of the Acis group), we are on a mission to make a real difference and we are looking for someone like you to help us build brighter futures for young people! We are currently seeking a dedicated and adaptable Construction Skills Tutor to join our team in our Post-16 alternative provision setting. You will be working with learners who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and may sometimes display challenging behaviours. Our learners thrive with tutors who are patient, enthusiastic, and genuinely committed to helping young people overcome barriers and unlock their potential.
What You'll Do:
- Deliver engaging, hands-on sessions in brickwork, plastering, joinery, and other construction trades
- Support learners in developing practical skills and industry knowledge
- Build positive and supportive relationships to inspire and motivate
- Work collaboratively within a supportive, learner-focused team
- Adapt to timetable changes and support in other curriculum areas when needed
What We're Looking For:
- A skilled construction professional or passionate tutor with experience in brickwork, plastering, joinery, or general building
- Previous experience working with SEN learners is desirable, but not essential
- Teaching experience or a willingness to train (support provided)
- Experience of both End-Point Assessment (EPA) and portfolio based assessments such as Skills Education Group (SEG) would be an advantage
- Flexibility, a positive attitude, and a genuine desire to make a difference
