We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator to join a busy precision engineering team based in Hayes, West London.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC milling, specifically on Hurco 3-axis machines, and occasionally using 4th-axis rotary tables. This is a permanent role offering the opportunity to work on high-quality, tight-tolerance components for various subcontract engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities ofCNC Programmer / Setter / Operator
- Program CNC milling machines using Hurco WinMax controls directly at the machine or via CAM software.
- Set and operate 3-axis CNC mills, including the use of 4th-axis rotary tables when required.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for efficient CNC machining.
- Inspect components using measuring tools such as verniers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company standards.
- Collaborate with other departments and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements of aCNC Programmer / Setter / Operator:
- Proven experience in CNC programming, setting, and operating Hurco milling machines.
- Familiarity with 4th-axis (rotary table) operations is beneficial.
- Ability to work to tight tolerances (typically 0.01mm) from complex engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and work holding methods.
