I’m recruiting for a Test Lead to join my client based in Cardiff, with the expectation of going into the office 2 days a week and the chance to work remotely the rest of the time.
As Test Lead, you’ll act as deputy to the Test Manager and provide hands-on leadership across a test team of nine and help to lead and mentor testers across a range of different workstreams and sprint teams. You’ll help to bring structure, best practice and mentoring to help them mature their testing capability, while also getting involved directly in delivery.
You will be part of a digital team delivering projects that help thousands of people across the UK. You’ll work across a wide variety of internal projects, from membership upgrades and finance systems to HR payroll, new content systems and more. It’s a supportive, collaborative digital team where you’ll have the opportunity to influence change and help drive quality across the organisation.
This is a role that requires strong collaboration. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, business users and sales teams to ensure high-quality outcomes, while also engaging with developers and contributing to Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, refinements, retrospectives and stand-ups. The organisation is still on its Agile and DevOps journey, so they are looking for someone who can both operate in this environment and help shape the way they work in the future.
Training, mentoring and helping build career pathways for testers will also be a part of what you do, helping them to create a more structured and resilient test function.
To be successful, you’ll need strong experience leading or mentoring testers within Agile teams and a solid background in manual testing, with any knowledge of testing CMS or Microsoft Dynamics 365 useful. Experience of working in a mature Agile or DevOps environment would be a real advantage, as they are still developing their own practices and are keen to learn from someone who has been there before.
This is a great role that offers the real chance to help shape the structure and future of a growing test function. They are offering a salary of £55,000 plus benefits including a 35-hour working week.
