Business Intelligence Technical Lead – London – Tier 1 Investment Banking – £70,000 to £80,000 – Hybrid Working + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Overview: An excellent opportunity has arisen with a leading investment bank for a Business Intelligence Technical Lead. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on in developing and improving BI systems while also driving internationally dispersed teams to deliver high performance and provide top-tier service. The role ensures that data integration, reporting, and system maintenance align with business needs and technology policies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee data integration, reporting, support, and maintenance while fostering strong business relationships.
  2. Act as a subject matter expert in requirement gathering for major change initiatives and resolving BAU issues.
  3. Ensure services meet agreed SLAs, KPIs, and adhere to the group’s Technology & Security policies.
  4. Provide support to service users across EMEA, Americas, and Asia & Tokyo.
  5. Validate new products and trading opportunities that leverage emerging technologies.
  6. Partner with other departments to enhance business services.
  7. Drive a culture of responsiveness and delivery excellence within BAU constraints.
  8. Support business-sponsored project programs, including engaging with key stakeholders (Project Managers, Business Users, Technology Teams, etc.), managing project scope and architecture validation, and approving transitions into production.
  9. Maintain system stability and performance through housekeeping and maintenance initiatives.
  10. Manage and safeguard confidential data per internal and external policies.
  11. Provide leadership and support to the technology team.
  12. Assist technical teams in implementing changes effectively.
  13. Actively manage team performance and talent development, strengthening succession planning.
  14. Ensure adherence to Risk and Control requirements, regulatory compliance (SOX, GDPR), and internal governance policies.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  1. Extensive hands-on experience in BAU support, data integration, and reporting.
  2. Experience with data governance, security, and regulatory compliance.
  3. Proven experience leading and managing internationally dispersed teams.
  4. Financial Services experience.
