Location: Hybrid (3 days/week onsite)

Job Summary: We are searching for a senior Backup and Storage Engineer on behalf of our Global financial services client. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining their backup and storage infrastructure to ensure company data is stored securely, efficiently, and properly backed up. A successful candidate is proficient in both designing architecture solutions AND responding immediately when critical systems need attention during operating hours. Strong hands-on implementation and maintenance, and design of architecturally scalable, secure, and HLD storage solutions. Takes ownership of the entire storage/backup domain within the organization. Specialist in working with specific tools (Avamar, Rubrik, Veeam) and automation scripting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement storage solutions for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
- Ensure data storage meets compliance, security, and regulatory requirements
- Evaluate new storage technologies and recommend improvements
- Troubleshoot storage and backup system issues
- Create and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies to prevent data loss
- Monitor storage systems' performance and optimize capacity and costs
- Automate backup processes to meet recovery time and recovery point objectives
- Document processes and train internal teams on storage best practices
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in backup and storage management
- Knowledge of NetApp and Pure storage systems (SAN, NAS, Object storage)
- Experts in Python, PowerShell, Ansible, and Git
- Extensive data protection experience with Dell Avamar, Rubrik, and Veeam backup solutions
- Deep understanding of storage capacity planning and performance optimization
