Job Title: Contracts Manager (Geotechnical/Piling)

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Contracts Manager (Geotechnical/Piling) to oversee and manage contracts for large projects or a portfolio of smaller projects. The role ensures compliance, financial performance, and successful project delivery within scope, schedule, and quality standards.

The Contracts Manager will be responsible for ensuring contract compliance, administering change control processes, and managing financial performance, cost control, and budget alignment. They will lead contract negotiations, risk management, and dispute resolution while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within scope. They will also oversee risk identification, adherence to company policies, and project mobilisation, handover, and closeout processes.

Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders is key, as is representing the business in contract-related discussions and negotiations while managing and resolving conflicts effectively. The role includes budget forecasting, financial reporting, and performance tracking, ensuring spend control, governance, and cost management while identifying financial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.

The Contracts Manager will manage and support project teams, ensuring effective coordination, oversee procurement and contract administration for suppliers and subcontractors, and ensure supply chain performance aligns with contract requirements.

Essential:

  • 10-15 years' experience in geotechnical/piling operations.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management.
  • Experience in project financial management and cost control.
  • Client and stakeholder management skills.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and project controls expertise.
  • Strong written, oral, and numeracy skills.
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Preferred:

  • Chartered Engineer (or working towards).
  • Appointed Person in Lifting Operations.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator certification.
